The NarrowDisc single disc coulter evolves the proven Avatar system to offer a tighter 20 cm row spacing without compromising performance. It features maintenance-free bearings, carbide-reinforced seed skids for longevity, and up to 280 kg of terminal-adjusted pressure to ensure precise furrow opening and residue clearing. This robust design, supported by stable depth control rollers, guarantees reliable seed placement and optimal soil contact even in the most demanding conditions.

The Avatar 8–12 SD offers customizable hopper configurations, including a 6,300 l double tank or a 6,400 l triple tank, with an optional 400 l MiniDrill for applying up to four components simultaneously. This multi-hopper system provides maximum flexibility by keeping seeds and fertilizers separate to prevent settling, allowing users to precisely adjust mixing ratios and application rates for diverse seeds, fertilizers, and microgranular compounds in a single pass.

Support wheels guide the wings of the drill at the set depth. Depending on the soil, it might make sense to use a double support wheel. The individual support wheels of the models 8 - 10 SD are standard equipment. As an option, two support wheels per wing can be configured. The 12 SD is equipped with double support wheels as standard.

HORSCH metering systems offer maximum flexibility through a range of interchangeable rotors tailored to specific seed rates, speeds, and machine configurations. For drills with double drop tubes, specialized rotors enable precise distribution and half-width shut-off, while an integrated valve system allows for quick rotor swaps without emptying the hopper. To ensure accuracy, HORSCH provides a rotor selection server for guidance, though a calibration test is always recommended to guarantee an optimum seed rate across the entire working width.

Catching roller

• Safe placement of the seed

• Remove the catching roller in wet conditions

• Due to the parking position, the catching roller can be lifted

Due to the catching roller, the seed is placed perfectly in the seed furrow to create a connection to capillarity. When sowing in very wet conditions, the catching roller can be set to the parking position with one simple step. Thus, it is possible to continue sowing in wet conditions. If working in wet conditions for a longer time, it makes sense to replace the catching roller with the uniformer.

The HORSCH fine metering insert kit provides a precise, versatile solution for applying microgranular compounds and fine seeds across all HORSCH machines with pressurized hoppers. By utilizing a modular system of drive shafts, interchangeable rotors of various sizes, and specialized spacers, the kit allows for highly accurate application rates ranging from 1.5 kg/ha to 60 kg/ha. This simple yet flexible design is compatible with models like the Partner, MiniDrill, Pronto, and Focus, offering seamless integration for diverse agricultural needs.

The steel closing wheel is ideal for wet and changing conditions. Even with a lot of organic material, the closing wheel works reliably – a real all-rounder among the closing wheels. In special conditions, the angle of the closing wheel can be adjusted to achieve a perfect result.

Star roller steel

• For sowing in dry soils

• The star roller produces crumbly fine soil

• The down force of the closing wheels can be adjusted by means of a spring without any tools

• Depending on the conditions, the angle can be changed

The steel star roller is ideal for dry soils. The star profile produces fine soil. It covers the seed and closes the seed furrow. For special conditions, the angle of the star roller can be adjusted to achieve a perfect result.

Uniformer

• Safe placement of the seed in the furrow

• Can be used in all situations

• Ideal when sowing into green catch crops

• Ideal in wet conditions

Due to the Uniformer, the seed is pressed in to the seed furrow. This principle is already known from the TurboDisc seed coulters of the Pronto. The Uniformer is also ideal for green catch crops.

AutoForce

• Stony soils require more coulter pressure to place the seed at a consistent depth. If the coulter pressure is too low the coulter body would not move smoothly and the seed would germinate irregularly and with different speed.

• Light conditions or pressure-sensitive soils need less coulter pressure so that the soil is not compacted. Too much coulter pressure compacts the soil and slows down the development of the roots although all seed was placed at the same depth.

• There rarely are fields that are completely even. In every part of the field the coulter pressure has to be adapted.

• This is why HORSCH developed an automatic coulter pressure regulation system.

AutoForce ensures uniform seed emergence by automatically maintaining a pre-set contact pressure (35–110 kg) regardless of soil variability. Using sensors at the depth control roll, the system redistributes machine weight in real-time to prevent shallow placement or over-compaction, guaranteeing consistent embedding at the ideal depth.

Oil cooler

• Heats up the airflow in the pneumatic system

• Maintains the flowability of fertiliser in wet conditions, e.g. dew in the morning, for a longer period

• Lowers the oil temperature in the system and relieves the tractor's oil cooler

The optional oil cooler at the hydraulic fan heats up the air flow in the pneumatic system. This lowers the oil temperature in the system and relieves the tractor's oil cooler. Another very important advantage is that it maintains the flowability of the fertiliser in wet conditions, e.g. dew in the evening.

Fertiliser and seed flow control

The fertiliser and seed flow control is a reasonable electronic solution to prevent sowing errors. The sensors control the flow directly behind the distribution tower and detect blockages.
