Duett coulter

Coulter point:

In combination with the MultiGrip tine, the Duett coulter with solid fertiliser is a combination coulter for simultaneous seeding und fertilisation for double row seeding. Alternatively, liquid fertiliser can be applied as a second component.

The HORSCH MultiGrip tine features a maintenance-free, lubrication-free design that delivers 285 kg of coulter pressure for precise seeding depth control, even in heavy soils. Arranged across two or three bars with 25 to 32 cm spacing, its easily interchangeable coulters act like a cultivator—loosening, mixing, leveling, and clearing the seedbed of stones and harvest residue. This ensures optimal, low-wear seedbed preparation and precise seed placement, with the added capability for simultaneous fertilizer application.

With 44 mm, the ThinEdge tine seed coulter is a very narrow coulter. It is ideal for sowing catch crops directly into stubble. Due to the narrow shape only little soil is moved and thus the water is kept in the soil. The little movement of the soil does not stimulate the germination of weeds. In addition, the tine point can be mounted on the WideEdge coulter.

WideEdge seed coulter

• Wide tine seed coulter for an approx. 7 cm wide band seeding

The WideEdge tine seed coulter creates a seed band with a width of up to 7 cm. This ensures a wide distribution per seed row. The tine is used for removing of organic residues and thus ensures a clean seed furrow without residues. In addition, the point can be mounted on the ThinEdge coulter.

HORSCH metering systems offer maximum flexibility through a range of interchangeable rotors tailored to specific seed rates, speeds, and machine configurations. For drills with double drop tubes, specialized rotors enable precise distribution and half-width shut-off, while an integrated valve system allows for quick rotor swaps without emptying the hopper. To ensure accuracy, HORSCH provides a rotor selection server for guidance, though a calibration test is always recommended to guarantee an optimum seed rate across the entire working width.

Packer

• Each tyre rolls over one seed band

The tandem or tyre packer consolidates the seed band, with air-filled tractor-profile tyres running precisely behind each seed coulter to ensure optimum seed-soil contact and precise depth control. Depending on the Sprinter model, the system utilizes specific packer configurations that feature a self-cleaning flexing effect in wet conditions and double as transport wheels for road travel. Furthermore, an optional front packer enhances soil crumbling and leveling for even seed coverage.

Harrow

• Rear harrow row is responsible for the finishing and improves levelling across the entire working width in front of the tyre packer

• The working depth of the harrow rows can be limited via the parallelogram suspension

A 2-row harrow at the Sprinter ensures an optimum covering of the seed behind the seed coulters and an even distribution of loose soil and harvest residues across the seed bands (for Sprinter 12 SW this is carried out via a disc levelling system). The height and the aggressiveness of the harrow can be adjusted.

Fertiliser and seed flow control

• For a complete monitoring of the seed and fertiliser hoses

• Warning if a pneumatic hose is blocked

• Sowing errors are avoided

• Monitoring of the pneumatic flow at the distribution tower

The fertiliser and seed flow control is a reasonable electronic solution to prevent sowing errors. The sensors control the flow directly behind the distribution tower and detect blockages. Thus, the individual pneumatic hoses are monitored and within seconds you get a notification in the terminal – both acoustic and visual.

Oil cooler

• Heats up the airflow in the pneumatic system

• Maintains the flowability of fertiliser in wet conditions, e.g. dew in the morning, for a longer period

• Lowers the oil temperature in the system and relieves the tractor's oil cooler

The optional oil cooler at the hydraulic fan heats up the air flow in the pneumatic system. This lowers the oil temperature in the system and relieves the tractor's oil cooler. Another very important advantage is that it maintains the flowability of the fertiliser in wet conditions, e.g. dew in the evening.
