The AirVac and AirSpeed systems offer high-precision, electric-driven singulation for diverse crops using a universal singulator that requires no manual adjustment. The primary distinction lies in seed delivery: AirVac utilizes a gravity drop tube, while AirSpeed uses overpressure to accelerate seeds into the furrow via an air current. Both units feature integrated sensors to monitor spacing and accuracy, supporting advanced functions like VariableRate and SectionControl for maximum sowing efficiency.

The row tank of the Maestro has a capacity of 70 l for seed and is air- and watertight. The working height of the large feed opening is easily accessible and the high snap-in position of the cover allows for an easy and quick filling of the tank.

Built for longevity, the heavy-duty Maestro row units feature a wide, stable parallelogram and maintenance-free bushes designed to absorb high lateral forces and navigate uneven terrain. Using a hydraulic system to apply up to 350 kg of pressure, these units offer precise depth control from 1.5 to 9 cm and include standard catching rollers and V-closing wheels for reliable seed placement and furrow closure.

• Per row, there is one finger/spike press wheel and one standard wheel to control the depth and to prevent the grains from moving.

• However, the wheels are not suitable for shallow seeding.

• If the furrow wall gets compacted because of the DoubleDisc seed coulters, it is broken by the finger / spike wheel – the furrow is removed.

• No opening of the seed furrow after seeding in dry conditions, especially on heavy, clayey sites

• Development of the maize root is encouraged

The closing of the seed furrow is the last time when you can influence emergence. Depending on the type of soil, the sowing method, sowing depth and the crop, the requirements differ. Therefore, the Maestros can be equipped with different press wheels and press wheel combinations to be able to achieve an optimum work result for all crops in all conditions.

AutoForce

• Stony soils require more coulter pressure to place the seed at a consistent depth. If the coulter pressure is too low the coulter body would not move smoothly and the seed would germinate irregularly and with different speed.

• Light conditions or pressure-sensitive soils need less coulter pressure so that the soil is not compacted. Too much coulter pressure compacts the soil and slows down the development of the roots although all seed was placed at the same depth.

• There rarely are fields that are completely even. In every part of the field the coulter pressure has to be adapted.

• This is why AutoForce has been available for the Maestro line since 2016.

AutoForce guarantees an always consistent embedding of the grains in changing conditions. Thus, more regular emergence and populations are achieved. The contact pressure of the row unit is measured with a sensor at the two support wheels. This pressure (= nominal value) is previously set in the terminal. Three pressure levels are available: 25 kg, 50 kg and 80 kg (the values can also be adapted individually). With changing soil conditions, the row needs more or less power to be able to keep up the set placement depth. The contact pressure would change. The sensor detects this, and the system regulates the contact pressure in such a way that it always corresponds to the nominal value that has been set. This is possible due to the design of the machine which allows for transferring weight to the seed bar. The coulter pressure automatically varies between 150 kg and 350 kg. The grain embedding is always carried out at the same level. Too shallow placement as well as soil compactions can be avoided.

AutoForce Pro

• AutoForce Pro is the extension of AutoForce and additionally relieves the row unit by up to 50 kg.

• Recommended for very light, intensively prepared or pressure-sensitive soils in sensitive crops, e.g. sugar beets.

• Excessive coulter pressure can slow down root development of the plant despite optimal placement and embedding.

• The coulter pressure automatically varies from 50 to 350 kg.

AutoForce Pro offers the same features as AutoForce with identical functionality. The special feature of AutoForce Pro is the automatic row relief in addition to the coulter pressure. On very light or pressure-sensitive soils, the weight of the row unit is sometimes too high, and this can lead to soil compaction. Therefore, AutoForce was developed further to additionally relieve the row unit with AutoForce Pro by up to 50 kg. The coulter pressure automatically varies from 50 kg to 350 kg. The relieved weight is evenly distributed to the frame of the machine. Thus, the embedding of the seed is always carried out at the same level, even on varying soils. A too shallow or too deep placement as well as soil compaction can be avoided - even in loose and intensively prepared conditions. Especially with sensitive crops, e.g. sugar beets, AutoForce Pro shows its strengths with regard to ideal seed embedding in changing conditions.

In addition to a precise placement of the grains the exact positioning of fertilisers or plant protection agents is very important for single grain sowing. The rows of the Maestros, thus, can be equipped with different components to provide an optimum solution for all requirements and demands.

The catching roller is an elementary component of single grain seeding. It ensures even plant spacings and enough capillarity at the grain for optimum germination. To meet the requirements on embedding quality, pressures and consolidation, two different trap rollers are available for the Maestros to apply for all sowing conditions and crops.

The microgranular unit on the row is located behind the seed row container. Each row unit is individually driven electrically. This allows for SectionControl for each individual row and for saving granulate. With the unit, granulate can be placed in the row or on the surface via a baffle.

The trash wheels prepare the seed furrow immediately before sowing. Stones, clods and organic matter like straw or mulch residues are removed from the area of the seed furrow. The objective is to obtain a clean seed furrow area with enough fine earth. The trash wheels are mainly used in a floating position with a downward depth limitation. Thus, they cannot work too aggressively or too deeply and they auto-control the height due to the integrated depth limiter.

Skids for seed furrow

After having been opened by the disc blades, the seed furrow is additionally pre-processed with skids. The bed of the seed furrow is again cultivated superficially and levelled so that special crops with very high requirements on embedding, e.g. sugar beet and rape, can be placed optimally. By means of a quick-change system, the skid is replaced with the standard scraper which mainly acts as a scraper and as a protection for the drop tube.

Different types of soil and sowing methods make different demands on the depth control wheel. Wet, pressure-sensitive soils with a high clay content react sensitively to too high coulter pressures and compaction. On light, very flowable sandy soil, the wheels will sink deeper, so the requirements on the depth guide wheel will differ. For a safe sowing in adhesive soils mainly the self-cleaning effect of the wheel is crucial. These are the reasons why three different depth control wheel versions are available for the Maestros.

The integrated hydraulic weight transfer on the Maestro transfers weight from the tractor to the frame of the seeding machine. This allows working with a coulter pressure of up to 350 kg, depending on the number of rows. Due to the complete integraton of the system into the coulter pressure hydraulics, you do not have to carry out any adjustments. The hydraulic weight transfer is recommended especially in hard and heavy conditions as well as for direct seeding.
